The Ins and Outs of the Hibbett Return Policy

Hibbett Sports gives a 60-day window for customers to return their unwanted items. The return window starts when the last item in an order is shipped, not when a customer receives the order. You can return products purchased online via mail or at a store, but all store-purchased items must be returned to a store. Curbside Pickup Orders are eligible for mail or in-store returns.
An eligible return item must:
- Be in its original purchase condition
- Come with a receipt
You can still return Hibbett Sports items after the return window passes, but the company will only issue store credit.
Hibbett issues merchandise credit equal to the current price for in-store purchases without a receipt or past the 60-day window. If you decide to return your online order after 60 days, your only option is an in-store return for merchandise credit.
Shipping your return is free if you use standard ground return shipping. The customer will bear the cost of any alternative shipping method.
To return your online purchase via mail, you will need a prepaid return label. To get one, follow these steps:
- Go to the Check Order Status page
- Fill in your order number
- Type in your order email
- Input the ZIP code of your billing address
- Hit Check Status and follow the instructions
To return your item to any local Hibbett Sports store instead, use the Store Locator page to get the address, phone number, and business hours of any store. Alternatively, you can browse through the Store Directory.
Some Hibbett items only come with the mail return option. You can use the Check Order Status page to find out what return methods are available for the items you wish to send back.
Hibbett Sports in-store purchases can refer to the:
- Items a customer bought and checked out from a store
- Items bought in a store and shipped to a customer’s home
When returning shipped in-store purchases, the Hibbett Sports return policy requires you to bring along at least one of these documents:
- An order confirmation email
- A shipment email
- Your shipment’s packing list
- A receipt of purchase
If you don’t present any of these documents, your returned items won’t qualify for a refund—you can only receive merchandise credit.
You cannot exchange Hibbett items purchased online. If there is an issue with the size or color of the merchandise, you have to return your item to a Hibbetts Sports store or mail it in for a refund. You can then use the refund to place a new order for the correct item.
Hibbett will not accept a returned item if:
- It has been worn or washed
- The item is covered by a manufacturer’s warranty
- It is a customized item
Defective claims on sunglasses and unwrapped baseball/softball bats are handled directly by their vendors. Customers should use the Product Warranties page to contact the appropriate manufacturer and make a warranty claim. You will need an original sales receipt.
Hibbett refunds in-store purchases to the original payment method except for checks and debit cards that are refunded in cash. Personal check refunds can only be issued within four days after purchase. It can take up to 14 days to process your return and 30 days more for your financial institution to post it to your account.
Refunds for online purchases returned to a store are issued to the original payment method—debit cards are refunded in cash—while refunds for mail returns are processed to the original credit card. It can take up to seven working days for Hibbett to receive your mailed return, five working days to process it and send you an email notification, and 4–7 working days to reimburse your original payment method.
Full or partial gift card or merchandise card purchases will be refunded as a new card for in-store purchases and a digital Hibbett | City Gear gift card via email for online purchases.
