How to Appeal a Suspended Final Fantasy XIV Account

Fantasy XIV is a multiplayer online role-playing game developed and published by Square Enix for Microsoft Windows. Fantasy XIV is the original Final Fantasy series of fourteen entries and the second MMORPG in the series after Final Fantasy XI. The Fantasy game series is well compatible with PlayStation and other gaming consoles.

Like any other online gaming account, Fantasy XIV might be suspended or banned due to a violation of players' policy. However, you can unban your account by appealing to the management through the customer service desk.

Getting an instant response from customer service is challenging since the customer service team attends to many consumers. DoNotPay helps you get a faster response when you by writing an appeal letter attached with a note of urgency.

What May Cause My Fantasy XIV Account to Be Suspended?

Fantasy XIV has four the Final Fantasy XIV User Agreement or Square Enix Account Terms of Use. The kind of penalty you receive depends on the severity of the policy violation.

The types of penalties include:

1. Caution

A caution notice is the least severe penalty for violating player policy. The notice is issued together with instructions for improvement, which you should follow to avoid further disciplinary action.

2. Warning

A warning notice is more severe than a caution notice. However, similar to caution, you will continue gaming when issued a warning notice, but you should be extra careful. You will also receive instructions for improvement, which you should follow to avoid repeating the mistakes.

3. Temporary Service Account Suspension

You may receive a temporary service account suspension for violations that require a penalty greater than a warning. The temporary account suspension prevents you from playing Final Fantasy XIV for the stated days.

There are three types of Temporary Service Account Suspension depending on the severity of the offense and your past record of policy violation. Even if you did not receive a caution or warning for your past transgressions, they might affect the temporary suspension period.

A temporary service account suspension can last for different durations, such as:

  • 3 days
  • 10 days
  • 20 days

Once you violate the players' policy, the suspension will be implemented immediately but will not start counting until 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time the following day. Square Enix is not accountable for the extra time between the start of the suspension and 12:00 a.m.

During the suspension period, you will not be able to use any of the Final Fantasy XIV service accounts associated with the Square Enix account or get a refund of the subscription fee. However, you can log in to use any of the Final Fantasy XIV service accounts associated with the Square Enix account and use other Square Enix resources.

Square Enix takes the suspension time to review your activity on the gaming platform. The results of the review might be lifting the ban or termination of your account. If the review is not complete by the time the suspension period is over, your suspension will be extended until the review is complete.

Besides your current violations, points from previous violations are compiled together to know the fate of your account. Each rule you break counts as some points, even when you don't get a notice for the violation.

4. Service Account Termination

In the event that you have severely violated the Final Fantasy XIV User Agreement or Square Enix Account Terms of Use or repeated violations, your account will be permanently banned.

A permanent service account termination removes your access to Final Fantasy XIV and any other Final Fantasy XIV service accounts associated with your Square Enix account.

However, you have control of other Square Enix account services. In rare cases, your Square Enix account may be subject to compulsory cancellation where all services associated with your Square Enix account will become unavailable.

My Fantasy XIV Account Was Suspended Without Cause: What Do I Do?

Final Fantasy XIV Temporary Service Account Suspension is lifted automatically after the set period. If you feel that your Final Fantasy XIV account has been wrongfully suspended, you can appeal for a faster lifting of the ban.

A Final Fantasy XIV appeal prompts the company to review your case and ensure appropriate actions were taken. However, the review will not give you additional information about the suspension.

If your account was suspended due to a compromised action, you could appeal your suspended account by submitting a request for Game Data Recovery through the Square Enix Support Center. You can also recover deleted characters and game data through the same process. If you do not have access to your Final Fantasy XIV account, you can recover your game and characters by filling out the game data recovery form on the Square Enix website.

If you cannot access your account or have forgotten your login details, submit a ticket via the Support Center website. The support team will review your account and its activities and reset your password.

To start the official account action review process, take a request form through your account and fill it out before submitting it.
