Return an Item to Cabela's Retail Stores

You can return your item to any Cabela's physical location if you bought it at the store or online. You need to:

  1. Locate the nearest Cabela's retail store (Cabela’s and Bass Pro Shops are under the same management now)
  2. Bring the product you wish to return, your ID, and the receipt or order number
  3. Approach the greeter’s desk to have the item checked
  4. Proceed to the Customer Relations Desk
  5. State whether you want a refund or an exchange

If you paid for your item in cash or with a check, Cabela's will reimburse you in cash. If you paid with a credit card, the refund will be processed to the card that you used.

Return an Item Using Cabela's Online Process

If you order an item online or via the catalog, you can use Cabela's Easy Online Returns process. If you require a refund, Cabela's will deduct $7.50 for the shipping expenses unless you received a defective or damaged item.

To initiate the process, follow these instructions:

  1. Open the Cabela's Return page
  2. Fill in your order number and email address and click Next
  3. Follow the prompts to create a return shipping label
  4. Print the label yourself or use the QR code to print it at FedEx or Walgreens

Your return will be processed as soon as it reaches Cabela’s warehouse.

Easy Online Returns Not So Easy? Here's What To Do

If you are unable to use the Easy Online Returns process, you can choose between these two options:

  • Print and complete the online return form
  • Write down your exchange or refund request on a paper with the following information:
    • Order information
    • Order number
    • Full name
    • Phone number
    • Indications whether you want a refund or an exchange
    • Reason for return

If you would like an exchange, include the following details about the replacement item:

  • SKU number
  • Color/size
  • Quantity
  • Description
  • Price

If the replacement value is higher than the original item, include the payment method for the price difference.

Mailing Instructions for Return Items

You should mail return items to Customer Returns, 501 Cliffhaven Rd, Prairie Du Chien, WI 53821. You can use either FedEx/UPS Ground or USPS insured with delivery confirmation to mail the item. Using drop boxes is not recommended.

Cabela's Return Policy for Items Without a Receipt

If you cannot find the receipt or proof of purchase, you can still return your item, but the following conditions will apply:

  • The item will be processed at the lowest sale price, with sales tax and other applicable charges deducted
  • You will only be able to receive store credit or a replacement item
  • You need to present a valid government photo ID
  • Cabela's have the right to limit or decline the return

Cabela's Gun Return Policy

Due to safety concerns, Cabela's doesn't allow the returns of firearms. This includes:

  • Ammunition
  • Black powder firearms
  • Primers
  • Reloading lead brass or bullets
  • Treestands
  • Mouth calls
