The University of Iowa Work-Study Program
The University of Iowa work-study program allows students to work for the university, approved off-campus government, or non-profit agencies.
To be eligible for the work-study program, you must:

- Show financial need by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) every year
- Be enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate program
- Request to participate in the work-study program in the FAFSA

The amount you can earn per semester is minimum $500 and caps at $1,750 for newcomers and transfer students and $2,500 for everyone else. UI students can work 20 hours per academic week and 40 hours per week during breaks and summer.
