Get an MCAT Fee Waiver in Minutes

If you’re interested in studying medicine and dream about becoming a physician, surgeon, or medical researcher, you have to take the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) to qualify for medical school.

With the looming costs of further studies in medical schools, you’re likely welcoming the idea of saving some money on the test and even college application fees. DoNotPay has the perfect feature for getting the fees waived!

What Is MCAT?

You have to take the MCAT to qualify for any medical school. It’s computer-based and tests all the disciplines you’ll use in medical school, including writing ability and verbal reasoning. The MCAT tests you specifically on physical and biological sciences.

You have fifteen opportunities during the year to take the test. The duration is seven and a half hours, and the maximum score you can get is 528. Most students score between 505 and 508, with 500 being an average to enroll in a medical school.

Prestigious schools look for applicants with higher scores of around 516. Taking the test can cost more than $300 without additional fees, such as late registration.

Is There an Alternative to the MCAT?

There is currently no alternative to the MCAT exams. There are ways to study for a medical degree without taking the MCAT. Various schools are ready to waive the MCAT application fee for students with high GPAs and exceptional SAT or ACT scores. The students must also prove that they have experience in the medical field.

You can attend a few courses without taking the MCAT, which will put you on the track to medical school. Many of these courses are dual-degrees, so students have to prove that they will handle the workload. For these courses, high GPA and SAT scores are as important.

There has been plenty of debate recently on whether the MCAT test is still relevant or needed to demonstrate that the students are ready for medical school. Many colleges have been rethinking their admission policy, and the MCAT could become an outdated exam in the future. Until that happens, most medical schools still require you to have a high MCAT score.

Where Can You Register for the MCAT Test?

To register for MCAT exams, you can visit the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) website and follow these steps:

  1. Register an account
  2. Choose the MCAT options under products and features
  3. Choose a date and venue
  4. Make sure to make payment.

What if You Can’t Afford the Fees?

The AAMC has a fee assistance program that you can access from the website. The Association aims to assist students who cannot take MCAT exams due to financial reasons.
