Chargebacks and Refunds Get LNER Refunds Effortlessly

How to Easily Get an LNER Refund

LNER stands for London North Eastern Rail and is the primary train line for the London area. Routes are not limited just to London, however, as they run throughout the UK including York, Leeds, Newcastle, and Edinburgh. You can find long-distance lines through King's Cross station or connect at one of the 55 stations where LNER trains stop.

With thousands of people riding LNER trains every day, delayed trains and even cancelled trains are common–as are personal changes in schedule. If you are unable to take your planned trip, claim your LNER refund to put that money toward your next trip.

How to Get a Refund for LNER Train Tickets

LNER refunds are based on a four-point grid of circumstances with three refunds available. If you are looking for a ticket refund, the four options are based on why you missed the train and what type of ticket you purchased. Either your plans changed or the train was cancelled, which determines responsibility. Either you purchased an anytime ticket or an Advance ticket, which determines the replaceability.

Cancelled Train: LNER Advance Ticket Refund

Advanced tickets are booked for a specific date and time - which means a specific train. If your Advance ticket train was cancelled, then you can claim a refund by mailing the refund form and your tickets to the LNER refunds PO Box:

  1. Print out the Refund Form
  2. Fill out the form
  3. Put the form and your missed Advance tickets in the envelope
  4. Address the Refund request to LNER Refunds PO BOX 1259, Crawley, RH10 0JR

Cancelled Train: LNER Anytime Ticket Refund

If you bought an Anytime or Off-Peak ticket and the train you wanted to take was cancelled, you can access your refund online. Once your request is submitted, it will be reviewed for approval.

  1. Sign into your LNER account
  2. Navigate to My Bookings
  3. Select to View the ticket purchase you want to refund
  4. Click Refund
  5. Give your reason
  6. Selects 'Service Disruptions and Cancellations'
  7. Submit request

Plans Change: LNER Anytime Ticket Refund

If your plans change, you can get your Anytime ticket the same way, but there will be a £10 refund fee.

  1. Sign into your LNER account
  2. Navigate to My Bookings
  3. Select to View the ticket purchase you want to refund
  4. Click Refund
  5. Give your reason
  6. Select your reason for missing the train
  7. Submit request

Plans Change: No Refund for LNER Advance Ticket

Finally, if you bought an Advance ticket but can't make your train, unfortunately, there are no refunds available. LNER Advance tickets are only refunded if the train has a scheduling failure.

Issues You Might Encounter When Requesting a Refund

LNER reviews all refund requests for accuracy and circumstance. This means your refund might be rejected if the cause is anything other than a known train delay or cancellation, even if it's for a good reason. You may also have trouble if you encounter technical difficulties with an online review, lose your Advance tickets to refund, or cannot print and send the refund request as required.

How to Get an LNER Refund With DoNotPay

If your LNER refund is rejected or you run into technical problems along the way, DoNotPay can submit your refund or chargeback and help push for approval. If you have a legitimate reason for a refund or a refund was denied for delayed or cancelled trains, you can request a chargeback for the cost of the ticket instead. DoNotPay will contact your bank and card provider to process a chargeback for a ticket purchase that you could not use and was not refunded.

All you have to do is:

  1. Go to the Chargeback Instantly product on DoNotPay.

  2. Let us know how you paid for the purchase, and give us the name of your bank and the merchant (New Look).

  3. Explain why you want the refund and provide details, including any files that provide evidence, the charge date, a description of the payment and the charge amount.

Once you send your request, here's what happens: DoNotPay will send a fax to your bank and a message to your card provider, Visa or Mastercard. From there, your chargeback will be processed in a few days and, if approved, you will see the cost of the ticket returned to your accounts.
