How to Get a Refund for LNER Train Tickets

Cancelled Train: LNER Advance Ticket Refund

Advanced tickets are booked for a specific date and time - which means a specific train. If your Advance ticket train was cancelled, then you can claim a refund by mailing the refund form and your tickets to the LNER refunds PO Box:

  1. Print out the Refund Form
  2. Fill out the form
  3. Put the form and your missed Advance tickets in the envelope
  4. Address the Refund request to LNER Refunds PO BOX 1259, Crawley, RH10 0JR

Cancelled Train: LNER Anytime Ticket Refund

If you bought an Anytime or Off-Peak ticket and the train you wanted to take was cancelled, you can access your refund online. Once your request is submitted, it will be reviewed for approval.

  1. Sign into your LNER account
  2. Navigate to My Bookings
  3. Select to View the ticket purchase you want to refund
  4. Click Refund
  5. Give your reason
  6. Selects 'Service Disruptions and Cancellations'
  7. Submit request

Plans Change: LNER Anytime Ticket Refund

If your plans change, you can get your Anytime ticket the same way, but there will be a £10 refund fee.

  1. Sign into your LNER account
  2. Navigate to My Bookings
  3. Select to View the ticket purchase you want to refund
  4. Click Refund
  5. Give your reason
  6. Select your reason for missing the train
  7. Submit request

Plans Change: No Refund for LNER Advance Ticket

Finally, if you bought an Advance ticket but can't make your train, unfortunately, there are no refunds available. LNER Advance tickets are only refunded if the train has a scheduling failure.
