How To Delete a Webex Account

Some online platforms we join by choice. Others we join for a season due to work requirements. Whatever your motivation, if you've been looking for an easy way to , you have come to the right place.

Though deleting accounts can sometimes seem like a hassle, knowing that you've closed down any unused or unneeded accounts can bring you great peace of mind moving forward.

Thankfully, with DoNotPay, you can help you delete your Webex account without any fuss.

Reasons to Delete Your Webex Account

Deleting old, unused, or unnecessary accounts is always a smart move. Even if you're using a password manager and being careful to use strong, unique passwords, long-forgotten sites can still pose a privacy risk. The old sites or services might be linked to other accounts, such as for a calendar or contacts, or they might hold some data you'd rather just keep private, like demographic information or personal notes.

Consider why you started your Webex account in the first place:

  • Organizing events and webinars
  • Attending work meetings
  • Collaborating with out-of-town and/or overseas partners
  • Working from home during a public health crisis

If these situations no longer apply, and you're not using Webex any longer, the time has come to delete your account.

The Complicated Question of Deleting Your Webex Account

All online services, from email providers to social media platforms, provide you with the option to delete your account at any time. Some just make it easier than others.

When it comes to Webex, it's important to note whether you pay for a Webex plan before you consider deleting your account.

Canceling Your Webex Plan

If you pay for a Webex plan, you will want to cancel your plan before you delete your account. Unfortunately, this is a fairly complicated seven-step process.

  1. Sign into Webex.
  2. Navigate to "Site Administration" (This may not even appear as an option, and if it does not appear, you will need to contact Webex directly.)
  3. After entering the "Control Hub" overview, click "Account."
  4. Navigate through "Subscriptions" to "Change Plan."
  5. Select "Cancel Paid Plan" and then confirm.
  6. Provide Webex your reason for canceling.
  7. Submit feedback to Webex.

As you can imagine, canceling your plan is time-consuming and tedious, perhaps even intentionally so.

Deleting Your Webex Account

If you have a free Webex account, deleting your account is a permanent step. Because this will delete all associated data, you must be sure you are ready before going through this process.

According to Webex, deleting your account should be fairly easy. You navigate to your settings, view your identity card, and choose "Delete Account"; however, this note on the website raises concerns: "If you don't see the option to delete your free Webex user account, open a support case or contact your Webex administrator."

Of course, all this assumes you haven't forgotten your password and/or are locked out of your Webex account. In that case, you have little recourse for easily deleting your account on your own.
