The Eligibility Requirements for the Opportunity Scholarship in Idaho

Eligibility Requirements for the Idaho Opportunity Scholarship for Adult Learners

As an adult learner, you can receive the funds from this program if you meet the following requirements:

  • Be an Idaho resident
  • Have an unweighted, cumulative 2.5 GPA or higher
  • Have graduated from Idaho high school or homeschool
  • Be in the process of obtaining your first undergraduate degree or certificate
  • Have earned at least 24 postsecondary credits—before you ceased enrollment
  • Don’t have more than two classes completed in the last 24 months
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress
  • Attend one of the eligible Idaho schools at least part-time

What Is the Application Process for the Idaho Opportunity Scholarship?

If you wish to enter the race of getting the Opportunity Scholarship, you first need to apply. The steps you need to take are:

  1. Collect the necessary documents
  2. Complete the State Board of Education scholarship application
  3. Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form

Both applications need to be submitted by March 1. Your chance to apply for the Idaho Opportunity Scholarship ends on July 31, and the program reopens on October 1.
