The basic terms of the Lids return policy are the following:
- You can return merchandise within 90 days from the item’s ship date
- You can return Manufacturer Direct, Memorabilia, or Collectible items within 30 days of the item’s ship date
- The items have to be unworn and unused and have the original tags and labels
- Lids can take up to ten business days to process your return
- If your items are damaged, Lids will cover the shipping charges
- The company will deduct $9.99 from the credit you’ll receive to cover the return shipping charges if the items aren’t faulty and damaged
- You can’t return customized and final sale items
- Any item that cannot be returned to Lids but you send it anyway will be donated to a charity of the company’s choice
Lids won’t accept your return if any of the following applies to your case:
- Merchandise falls under the category of non-returnable items
- Item was damaged or altered after the delivery
- Item is returned without tags or any accompanying materials that were part of the original shipment
- You have stained the product you wish to return

- Tell the customer support agent you want to return an item
- Follow the agent’s instructions to initiate your return
You can initiate a return over the Lids website if your order was shipped within the U.S. Follow the instructions below to make a return request on the Lids website:
- Go to the Returns Center page
- Enter the email address you used to place your order
- Type in your order number
- Check the I Don’t Remember My Order ID if you don’t have your order number
- Click on Start a Return
- Follow the rest of the instructions
To return a Lids item in person, follow the steps below:
- Find a Lids store near you using the store locator tool
- Head over to the store
- Tell the member of the staff you want to return an item
Yes, you can return an item to Lids without a receipt and packing slip, but the company will either exchange your item for a different one or provide merchandise credit via a gift card, which means you won’t be able to get a refund. You can also intentionally return your merchandise for an E-Gift Card. If you select this option, the company will waive the return label fee of $9.99.
To get the E-Gift Card, select it at the final step of the Lids return process.
