There are a few different ways to contact inmates at SCI Smithfield, and it's important to know the rules associated with each method.

Visitation

Currently, in-person visitation is limited to people who are vaccinated against Covid-19. Video visitation is available for others.

  2. When you log in, you will be able to choose from available time slots based on the inmate's housing assignment.
  3. Visiting hours are Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM.
  4. Each inmate is allowed to have four in-person visits per month. One of these may be on the weekend.
  5. In-person visits are guaranteed to be a minimum of an hour long.
  6. Four visitors (including children) are permitted to be with an inmate at a time.
  7. All visitors must follow all security procedures as well as all visiting room rules.
  8. Visits may be canceled for a number of reasons. You will be notified by email by the morning of your visit if a cancellation occurs.

Video Visits

  1. Schedule a visit online.
  2. Guides are available online for visits using IOS devices, Android devices, and Windows.
  3. Each inmate is allowed to have six video visits per month, and one of them may be on the weekend.
  4. As many as six visitors are allowed on a video call.

How to Send Money

All funds deposited in inmate accounts are handled by JPay. There are three ways for friends and family to deposit money in an account.

  2. Through their website with a money order.
  3. Using a kiosk located in the lobby at SCI Smithfield.

How to Send Mail
