Visiting Procedures for Mohawk Correctional Facility

Visitation rules at the Mohawk Correctional Facility are the same rules in place as the New York State Department of Corrections. Mohawk encourages visitation as it has been directly responsible for successful reintegration into society.

  • This prison utilizes an Ion-Scanner to detect drugs and explosives. If you fail this scan and the follow-up scan, you will be denied visitation for two consecutive days.

  • If you are loud, disrupting, or argumentative during your visit, your visitation may be terminated at the discretion of on-duty guards.

  • You are responsible for keeping children under control
