Why It's Hard Contacting the Georgia Senators by Yourself
It's hard getting in touch with and talking to government representatives directly. You will probably have one shot at talking to them and getting them to listen to you. That is why you need to be careful and have answers to the following questions:
- Who is the right person I should contact?
- Where can I find their contact information?
- How should I contact them? Call, write a letter or email?
- How should I address the senator and how can I phrase my concern?
These questions might seem easy, but once you start thinking about them, you will see that it is pretty difficult to reach a conclusion. The first thing you should keep in mind is that calling a senator will take a long time. The office’s phone line will be busy during working hours and you might not even get to speak to someone. Thus, it is much better if you choose to write an email or letter, preferably an email. The best way to contact a government representative is to use their online email form and deliver your message through there.
However, writing an email or a message is not easy. You should be careful about the following factors:
- Your message should look professional and proper.
- You should choose your words by keeping in mind that you are addressing a government representative.
- You should be convincing enough to get the senator to read your message and take your desired action.
