Sephora-returned products are eligible both for exchange and for refund. Sephora's return, refund, and exchange policies are based on the following Terms and Conditions:

  • The product must be in new or gently used condition unless it is faulty or the wrong product was delivered.
  • If the product is returned within 30 days of receipt, one set of refund rules applies.
  • If the product is returned between 31 and 60 days of purchase, a different set of rules applies.
  • If the product is faulty, and you return it by mail, the original shipping costs will be refunded. Otherwise, they will not.

If the product is eligible for a mail-back return, use the pre-paid shipping label and follow the instructions. It will take 30 days to process the return and refund your money. You will receive an email to confirm processing has been completed.

Steps to Return Your Sephora Order by Mail

  1. Go to Sephora Easy Returns.
  2. Enter your order number and delivery zip code, then follow the instructions about which products you are returning, your contact details, etc.
  3. Pack the products in either a Sephora product box or a well-padded envelope or box. Include the original packing slip.
  4. Print the Prepaid Return Label, or request a printerless FedEx Mobile Return Code from the Returns website link, if that option is available.
  5. Leave the package at a designated FedEx location.

Returns Not Eligible for Mail-Back

  • Any item purchased on Sephora.com using the buy-online-pickup-in-store option.
  • Same-Day Delivery orders.
  • Items purchased via Instacart or Shipt. They must be returned to a Sephora store location. You can find a complete list of stores here.
  • Any other third-party marketplace after 60 days from purchase. In this case, they must be returned to a Sephora store.

Steps to Return Your Sephora Product to a Store

Please note the following exceptions:

  • Items purchased at a Sephora at Kohl's may only be returned to a Sephora at Kohl's store.
  • Items purchased at a Sephora Inside JCPenney must be returned to one of their stores.

Getting a Refund for a Canceled Sephora Order

For Purchases Returned by Mail

  • If a product is returned within 30 days of purchase, the refund will go to the original credit or debit card used.
  • If the return is between 31 and 60 days from purchase, an online credit will be issued. Online credits are not valid in-store.
  • If the return is within 30 days of the purchase and was paid through PayPal, Klarna, or a JCPenney card, the refund will be applied accordingly.
  • If the return is between 31 and 60 days, an online credit will be issued and only valid for future online purchases.

For Purchases Returned In-Store

If the return is within 30 days of purchase:

  • The original credit or debit card will see the refund.
  • If a PayPal account was used, the purchase would be refunded via a Sephora gift card.

If the purchase was made:

  • Via Klarna, any credit or debit card of your choice will be credited back.
  • With a Sephora gift card, another gift card will be issued.
  • Using an online Sephora store credit or a JCPenney card, a store credit will be issued.
  • At a Mohegan Sun store with Player's Club Points, the product may be exchanged, but no refund will be possible.
  • ALL returns made between 31 and 60 days, no matter how they were purchased, will be refunded via an in-store-only credit.
