Beginning in 2022, CVS Health plans to close at least 300 stores per year through 2024.

You'd think that the leading pharmacy chain in the US would offer , price adjustments, or a price guarantee, but they don't. Instead, CVS has weekly specials, a loyalty program called ExtraCare, and coupons. CVS does operate pharmacies in other retailers' stores such as Target so remember that Target's price match policies will not apply to CVS-owned pharmacies.

ExtraCare Cards

ExtraCare is a loyalty program that offers the following:

  1. 2% back on qualified purchases. Prescriptions and copays are excluded.
  2. $5 in Extra Bucks for every ten filled prescriptions.
  3. $3 in Extra Bucks on a cardholder's birthday.
  4. Individualized coupons printed on in-store receipts.

Weekly SpecialsCVS is cutting back on its printed circulars that advertise in-store specials. Some markets will continue to receive circulars in the mail or as part of their newspaper delivery. Circulars will be available in stores in all markets. An online version of the circular is also available. Not all products are carried in every store.
