What Is the SEMCO Rebate?

The Commercial and Industrial Energy Efficiency Program is for those with commercial accounts with SEMCO. Who Is Eligible for a SEMCO Energy Rebate?

In general, the eligibility requirements include:

  • You must be a SEMCO Energy account holder when your equipment is installed
  • Rebate application must be received within 90 days of the equipment installation (or by December 31, 2022, whichever comes first)
  • Equipment must be purchased and installed in 2022.

Additional requirements are specific to the product you're getting the rebate for. For example, you're limited to one Energy Star exterior door rebate. To get a thermostat rebate, a programmable thermostat must replace a non-programmable one to get a thermostat rebate. For a tankless water heater rebate, the new water heater must have an energy factor of 0.81 UEF or more, and it must replace a combustible water heater.

How to Claim a SEMCO Rebate on Your Own

Start the process as soon as possible to ensure you complete the request within the required time frame. This is how to claim your :

  1. Visit the Energy Waste Reduction Program website
  2. Choose your home improvement category.
  3. Click on the specific product for which you'd like a rebate
  4. Read the eligibility requirements, then click the green button that says, "Apply for Rebate."
  5. Click "Continue" in the lower right-hand corner of the screen
  6. Fill out the application
