The Fast and Easy Way To Claim Rural King Rebates
The farm supply retail giant Rural King now has over 125 locations in 13 states and over 6500 employees, predominantly east of the Mississippi River. What started as a 7200 square foot farm supply store by Kermit Speers and Keith Beaird in Mattoon, Illinois in 1960 has become an industry leader that still offers its customers free coffee and popcorn in every location.
The product lines that Rural King sells, combined with their 125 + stores give them the ability to offer deep discounts and rebates from the manufacturers they do business with. From live chicks and rabbits to firearms and ammunition, Rural King provides a one-stop shopping experience for today's rural farming families.
Rebates From Rural King
With over 125 stores across 13 states and over 100,000 different products offered, Rural King has a rather extensive rebate program in place for their valued customers. And, with the landscape of the retail world constantly changing, so too does the rebates offered by Rural King.
Current items available for rebates can be found at the store level by their price tags on the shelves where the products are and by looking at their current ads on the Rural King website.
On the website, there is also a dedicated page to the items currently available for rebates as well as the instructions for claiming those rebates.
How Do Rural King Rebates Work?
To take advantage of a Rural King rebate, you must first purchase the item at full regular retail price. The rebate could be for a single item, or it could be for a percentage of your entire Rural King purchase.
The larger rebates are usually advertised in Rural King's weekly ad. Once you have purchased the item and held up your end of the rebate, follow the instructions printed on your receipt to fulfill the rebate which usually includes a manufacturer's rebate form located on the Rural King website.
You will most likely need to attach the receipt to the rebate or a clear photocopy to prove you have fulfilled the rebate's terms and conditions.
Rural King E-bates
Mist of Rural King's rebates are in the form of an 'E-Bate.' An E-Bate is the electronic equivalent of a mail-in rebate. The difference is instead of getting the money you get a store credit. The E-Bate is supposed to be a faster and more convenient way of getting your rebate but according to the instructions on the E-Bate, you still will wait up to six weeks for a response.
To file submission for your E-bate you need this information ready:
- Qualifying Rebate
- 11-Digit Receipt Number
- Name of Store
- First and last name
- Your complete address
- Phone number
- Email Address

Common Issues With Rural King Rebates
Some rather dissatisfied customers of Rural King have voiced their displeasure over customer service-related issues, some of which are with the Rural King rebate and E-Bate programs.
Lost rebate claims that were mailed in were the biggest complaint with lost rebate checks being a close second.
In an article published by The Southern Illinoisan, Rural King representative John Leonauskas Vice President of Marketing for Rural King reported that there was to be a panel of management members put together to solve any issues within 72 hours of initial contact with customers who were experiencing problems.
The E-Bates program that only pays out in-store credit had customers not receiving their due credit because of improperly filling out E-Bate claim forms. If the claim form receipt number doesn't match the actual store receipt that is included in the claim, the entire claim is denied leaving the customer in the dark about the status of their E-Bate. This has caused Rural King's BBB rating to be a disappointing F+.
Complicated, Confusing, Frustrating, and Time-Consuming
