PCR and Laboratory Tests

  • All passengers over the age of 12 must present either proof of laboratory nucleic acid amplification test (TAAN) or a rapid antigen test (TRAg) before boarding.
  • The tests must be taken 72 or 48 hours before boarding.
  • Foreign citizens who board without these tests will be refused entry at the border.

Quarantine

  • Passengers who arrive in flights originally coming from South Africa, Brazil, India, or Nepal are obligated to undergo a 14-day quarantine upon arrival in Portugal.
  • Passengers who present a passport with an exit record from South Africa, Brazil, India, or Nepal, regardless of the origin of the flights, must also undergo a 14-day mandatory quarantine upon their arrival in Portugal.
  • Passengers who have arrived in Portugal on an essential trip and are planning to stay for a maximum of 48 hours are exempt from this isolation.
  • Passengers from the United Kingdom or European Union with a Digital Certificate of Vaccination are exempt from isolation.
