Problems Canceling Bed, Bath & Beyond BEYOND+ Membership

In early 2020, Bed Bath & Beyond faced a class-action lawsuit in California for violating California's Automatic Renewal Law. They have since apparently made the terms clearer, but it seems that at one point they were actually setting people up for membership without making it clear it even was a subscription.

But the biggest problem with BEYOND+ is people getting it, forgetting they have it, and then being automatically renewed. It's probably a good idea to turn off automatic renewal as soon as you sign up then turn it back on again if you do decide to renew. Combined with the opt-out system on auto-renewals, this is a red flag for there potentially being issues.

Also, they typically do not give refunds under any circumstances, although it might be possible to talk them into one if you have not used the service at all.

How to Stop a Free Trial of BEYOND+ Without Being Charged

Bed, Bath & Beyond does periodically offer free trials of the program (and while they have got into trouble for signing people up for one through an opt-out at checking, that doesn't mean they won't try it again, especially if you aren't in California. Make sure they don't do this to you!). If you intend to sign up for a free trial, our virtual credit card can help, although in this case, you will have to double-check that they didn't use another credit card they have on trials.

DoNotPay's Free Trial Card product provides you with a virtual credit card that will check as valid until they try to charge it. When they do, it will show as no balance available, resulting in automatic cancellation of the service.
