The Consumer Product Safety Act requires manufacturers to refund or replace all recalled items from the consumers. If you want to see if you're affected by the , DoNotPay is here to help. What Happened with the Ingenuity Bassinet Recall?

An investigation conducted by Consumer Reports established that all inclined sleepers, including Ingenuity bassinets, increase suffocation risks. The recalled products were sold by major retailers nationwide, including Toys "R" Us, Walmart, and Target, and on online franchises from March 2012 through April 26, 2019. Sleepers typically position infants at an angle of 10 to 30 degrees. This allows the infants' heads to slump forward, thus blocking airflow. It also makes it easier for an infant to roll over on the sleeper's headrest, therefore interfering with breathing.

Since CR's investigation was initiated in April 2019, many manufacturers have recalled over 5 million infant products, including sleepers. In 2019, relevant government agencies took steps to ban sleepers in the US entirely. The US House of Representatives has already passed legislation that prohibits their manufacture and sale. Some of the recalled products include:

  • Ingenuity Moonlight Rocking Sleeper Lullaby Lion: 11164
  • Ingenuity Rock And Dream Sleeper Lucy: 10127
  • Ingenuity Smartrock Poweradapt Sleeper Cambridge: 10289
