You can also request your U of M medical records by calling the Release of Information Unit at 734-936-5490 if you urgently need to receive them. However, the facility prefers that patients choose another method if possible. If you must call, the Release of Information Unit is available Monday-Friday between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

Does U of M Charge for Medical Records?

U of M charges relatively minor fees to obtain copies of your medical records, which are primarily to cover the cost of any materials involved (paper, ink, and mailing supplies if you request for your records to be mailed to you) and the time associated with locating and printing your records.

Fees are as follows:
