According to Washington law (RCW 70.02.080), the hospital must provide your records within 15 days of receiving the request. There is no law about how long your medical records are kept by the hospital, but the State of Washington Medical Quality Assurance Commission outlines specific guidelines for retaining records, which includes a minimum of 10 years under typical circumstances.
