 or ASPC-Phoenix is a medium to high-security prison located in Phoenix, Maricopa County, Arizona. It's a unique modern facility operated by the Arizona Department of Corrections (ADC) and hosts approximately 1,042 inmates in its six units. 

These units include:

  • Alhambra Reception and Treatment Center Where the inmates are received, classified, and sent to other units. It was opened in 1979 and had a bed capacity of 207 inmates.
  • Aspen-MTU Mental health treatment unit for mentally-ill high-functioning male inmates. It was opened in 1983 and now has a bed capacity of 200 inmates.
  • Flamenco Mental Health Center Licensed psychiatric hospital for male inmates who require protective segregation and maximum custody. It was opened in 1985 and now hosts 105 inmates.
  • Flamenco Mental Health Center for Women It was opened in 1990 as a behavioral hospital for female inmates with a bed capacity of 20 inmates.
  • The B-ward Opened in 1979 and has a 40-bed capacity for inmates.
  • Inmate Workers Unit was also opened in 1979 and now has a 40-bed capacity for inmates.

Each unit has different programs. For example, inmates at the Alhambra and Flamenco Units may work in the yard or the kitchen. All the inmates have access to medical services, and some of the units have a mental health unit.

Phone Calls

ASPC-Phoenix prisoners have access to telephones but can only make collect calls or prepaid calls. If you would wish to receive phone calls from an inmate, you must fill out this online application form for visitation and choose the phone-only option.

Ensure that the information you enter on the form is accurate. If you are applying for phone-only privileges, you may be required to pay a $25 check fee as part of the application.

In-Person Visitations

Every inmate who arrives at ASPC-Phoenix is expected to submit a list of visitors (maximum of 20 people) who can come in to visit. Anyone who wishes to visit should apply through an online application form and submit the applications for approval. You must also pay a one-time $25 fee for a background check.

It's important to note that inmates in Reception status at Alhambra are not allowed visitation or phone calls (usually 30 - 45 days). Only those inmates assigned to Alhambra as resident workers or those in treatment programs are allowed visitors.
