How to Connect With An Inmate At Northern Nevada Correctional Center

If you have a friend or family member that's currently incarcerated at Northern Nevada Correctional Center, staying in contact may seem a little difficult. However, connecting with inmates is doable, and the process of doing so is entirely accessible. Visitation and phone calls may not always be an option, but writing letters can help you maintain communication and boost morale for inmates as they serve their sentence.

At many correctional facilities, connecting with an inmate can be done as long as you obtain their ID number, have their name, and meet the facility's basic requirements. To find out how you can contact an individual serving time at NNCC, DoNotPay can help you get through the process quickly.

Where Is Northern Nevada Correctional Center

Located in Carson City, Nevada, the Northern Nevada Correctional Center has been in operation since 1964. The facility was originally built with three housing units for convicted individuals and expanded in 2008 when seven additional housing units were built. Compared to state facilities, NNCC is relatively small and can only house 1,619 inmates at any given time.

To encourage progressive and rehabilitative behavior, Northern Nevada Correctional Center stimulates inmates by providing vocational training, education, and treatment opportunities. Programs include auto mechanics, computer, and dry cleaning services to help individuals build strong skill sets and provide them with consistency in their daily activities.

Inmates have on-site medical, mental health, and support staff available to assist as needed and local schools that help provide educational programs so that inmates can receive their high school diploma, GED, and even earn college credits to help prepare for reintegration into society.
