What Methods of Communication Can I Utilize?

You have the option of sending mail or visiting in person. Inmates may also call you at designated times. If you miss their call, they may not be able to call back any time soon until they have phone privileges again.

How Do I Send Mail?

You can send mail to a PO Box address -

541 Wayne Cotton Morgan Drive P.O. Box 2000 Wartburg, Tennessee 37887

Make sure that you include the inmate's legal first and last name as known by the DOC and their ID number. Otherwise, it may go undelivered.

Also note, that mail must be traditional. This means standard letters and cards are all that are accepted. You cannot send items through the mail, nor should you include anything extra such as glitter, perfume, lipstick, etc.

Can I Send Packages?

If you would like to send a package, you need to use an approved vendor to do so. Access Securepak is one of the most common vendors approved by Departments of Corrections throughout the U.S.

How Do I Schedule a Visit?

You can schedule a visit by calling (423) 346-1300. Use extension 1390 or 1391 and ask for the visitation office. You must be an approved applicant to attend visits.

You are encouraged to read the visitation handbook provided online before arriving. If you are found with alcohol, drugs, or weapons on your person when attempting to visit, you will be prohibited from entering and may face further consequences.

There are limited visitation hours:

  1. Thursday evenings from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
  2. Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 8 am to 3 pm

Visits are for two hour increments. If you're visiting on a busy holiday, however, you may be asked to leave early. Those who have traveled less than 200 miles or who visit frequently will be asked to leave first.

Make sure you have identification when you arrive. You will not be permitted inside without it. Acceptable forms include

  • A current driver's license or state ID
  • A military or government ID
  • A birth certificate if one of the people visiting is a minor

An expired card is not allowed.

How Can We Talk on the Phone?

You can add money to an inmate's account so they may use the phone more easily. Use the ConnectNetwork website to create an account and send a payment. It can take up to 2 days for your money to go through before the inmate can use the funds.

What Other Options Do I Have for Sending Money?

Inmates receive what is called a Trust Fund account. You can add money to this in various ways. Aside from the ConnectNetwork site, you may also:

  • Send money through JPay
  • Call customer service and pay with a debit card via telephone: (800) 574-5729
  • Visit a MoneyGram location and send cash - Use the receive code 6188
  • Send a money order and deposit slip from JPay - Send it to JPay, P.O. Box 279010, Miramar, FL 33027
