How to Contact Inmates at the Lebanon Correctional Institution on Your Own

The Lebanon Correctional Institution offers several ways to stay in touch with inmates. Below are the best ways to communicate with your friend or loved one while they're incarcerated.

Visiting an Inmate

If you plan on visiting an inmate, you've got two options. You can visit the facility in person, or you can participate in a video call with your inmate.

Video calls are available seven days a week during the following hours:

  • 7:30 am -10:30 am
  • 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm
  • 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Video visitation meetings can be scheduled for 30-minute blocks and must be approved at least 24 hours in advance. If you want to be approved for video visitation, you'll need to create a JPay account and follow the steps required to schedule a visit.

In-person visitation reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance. The preferred method for scheduling a visit is by emailing DRC.VisitationLeCI@odrc.state.oh.us. In your email, include the full names of each visitor, and for minors under age 18, list their relationship to the inmate.

In-person visitation is available during the following hours:

  • Weekdays: 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm and 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
  • Weekends: 8:30 am - 11:30 am and 12:30 pm - 3:30 pm

When visiting an inmate, make sure you leave all personal items in your vehicle. This includes your cell phone, keys (besides your car key), and money. You are welcome to use a locker, but you'll need to bring two quarters.

It is recommended that you familiarize yourself with the rules of the facility before visiting to avoid being turned away or losing visitation privileges.

Via Phone

You can't call an inmate at the Lebanon Correctional Institution, but they can call you. Each inmate can submit names and numbers of their friends and loved ones to create an approved call list. If you're on their list, your loved one can use a standard collect call, or they can call you with a prepaid account.

Ohio state institutions use Global Tel*Link (GTL) services. That means you need to create an account with GTL. From your account, you can add funds, and the inmate's call will cost 20% less than if they were making standard collect calls.

Inmates can also add purchase minutes from the prison commissary using their own funds.

Sending Mail

If you want to send your loved one or pen pal a letter, you can send it to the following address:

Inmate's name, ID number

Lebanon Correctional Institution

PO Box 56

Lebanon, OH 45036

There's no limit to the amount of mail that an inmate can receive, but they can only accept up to five photos and five newspaper clippings. Additionally, all mail will be inspected for contraband, and nudity is prohibited.

Sending Money

You can only send money to an inmate if you're on their approved visitors list. Once you've made the cut, you can send up to $200 at one time. There are several ways to send your inmate money. They include:

  1. Walk-In: Deposit money at a kiosk at the Lebanon Correctional Institution.
  2. Online: Deposit money via OffenderConnect.
  3. By Phone: Call 1-888-988-4768 and type in the reference site ID 86.
  4. By Mail: Send a money order that's payable to "JPay" along with a deposit form. The address is listed on the deposit form page.

To send money to your inmate by any of these methods, you'll need to know their full name, inmate ID number, and their current facility.
