The Hampton Bay Ceiling Fan recall was issued for the 54 inch Mara ceiling fan which was sold exclusively through Home Depot. Consumers are instructed to immediately stop using the fans and contact the King of Fans for a free replacement. This recall was issued after the company received more than 47 reports of the fan blades detaching while the fans were in use. At least four incidents resulted in property damage and two reports stated that consumers were hit with the detached blades.

The fans included can be identified by checking the UPC code against the four UPC codes indicated. The UPC code of the fan that you purchased is located on a silver sticker that can be found on the top of the fan housing assembly.
