How to Pay a Bill Without Using the DoNotPay App

Of course, you're welcome to bill yourself. There are several options to do so. And we've provided everything you need to know!

Pay in personFroedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin has a pretty good reputation for customer service, as hospital organizations go. In past years you might have enjoyed a quick jaunt to the hospital campus to pay your bill. But unfortunately, at the time of writing, the pay-in-person option at Froedtert is closed. That means you'll need to mail a check, buy and mail a money order, pay by phone, or pay online.
Pay by mailWe'll assume you know how to write a paper check to pay bills. When paying your bill, be sure to include the amount, date the check, and write the account number in the memo section. Froedtert also requests that you return the invoice with the payment.

Send your invoice and a check/money order to:

Froedtert Health

PO Box 734462

Chicago, IL 60673

Depending on your location, the day of the week, and the post office's mail load, your check can take anywhere from 2 to 5 days to reach Froedtert. And remember that "snail mail" does get lost from time to time. This can be stressful if your due date is near.

Of course, you can always overnight your payment or send it with a different carrier, but that's a considerable expense. If you're worried about a late payment fee, paying by mail is not the best choice.

Pay onlineFroedtert and the Medical College of Wisconsin use an online system called MyChart. To use it, you'll need to create an account, enter your bank information and invoice information.

Just know that MyChart/Froedtert has come under fire for billing mistakes, pricing changes and customer service issues. Now, we realize Froedtert is a large hospital organization, and billing hiccups are bound to happen once in a while. But if you'd like to know specific consumer experiences with MyChart, you can read all about them at the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website.

Pay by phoneHere are the steps involved:
  1. Get your payment method (credit card or debit card) and medical bill handy.
  2. Call 800-803-8155
  3. Follow the prompts to enter your account number and the amount to be paid.
  4. Be sure to write down the confirmation number, and monitor your bank account or credit card over the upcoming days.

Froedtert's phone payment system has decent customer service reviews. The only complaint — and we hear this about any pay-by-phone system — is that people who are hard of hearing struggle with the prompts. If you're hard of hearing, this method is not your best choice.

If English is your second language, you'd probably prefer one of the other payment methods, like the DoNotPay App!
