All You Need To Know About Capital One Point Transfers
Are your Capital One rewards points accumulating because you can't find ways to use them? You may be limiting yourself to only the redemption options available through Capital One, but there are other ways to use your points.
Capital One allows you to use your points with some of their travel partners, expanding your hotel and airfare options. If you want to transfer your points to a Capital One partner, DoNotPay can help you do it.
Earning Points With Your Capital One Card
Capital One has four cards that earn rewards points:
- Venture Rewards
- VentureOne Rewards
- Spark for Business
- Spark Select for Business
All four cards have a new member bonus of up to 60,000 miles and earn between 1.25 and 2 miles for every dollar. Both the Venture and Spark cards have a $95 annual fee, though the fee is waived on the Spark card for the first year. That fee is offset by a Global Entry or TSA PreCheck credit every four years.
If you decide to change your Capital One points into cash, here is the typical point value:

Capital One Travel Partners
Most partners allow you to transfer miles for the same value. There are three exceptions to this:
- Aeromexico Club Premier
- ALL Accor Live Limitless
- EVA Infinity MileageLands
You will also find that most partners offer instant transfers. The following partners take between 24 hours and five business days to transfer miles:
- ALL Accor Live Limitless
- Cathay Pacific Asia Miles
- Etihad Guest
- EVA Infinity MileageLands
- Qantas Frequent Flier
- Singapore Airlines KrisFlyer
When accounting for the transfer value and flexibility of miles, these partners appear to provide the most value:
- British Airways
- Air Canada
- Turkish Airlines
- Etihad
- Avianca
British Airways Executive Club
In addition to your Capital One spending, British Airways Avios can be earned with Oneworld partners and transferred to your account. Avios can then be used to book flights based on distance, with the cost of the flight usually less on American Airlines than directly through British Airways.
Air Canada Aeroplan
Air Canada points can be used with any Star Alliance member airline. One of the most promising points of the system is the fixed point cost of a flight based on its origin, destination, and ticket class:
- Under 500 miles within North America: 6,000 points
- US to Europe Economy: 35,000 to 40,000 points
- US to Europe Business: 60,000 to 70,000 points
- US to Europe First: 90,000 to 100,000 points
Turkish Airlines Miles & Smiles
Turkish Airlines miles can also be used with Star Alliance airlines. Depending on the airline you choose to redeem with, you may find a hefty fuel surcharge tacked onto the price of your ticket. United appears to be the best redemption partner in this regard.
Etihad Guest
The major benefit of Etihad Guest is the partnership with American Airlines. The conversion rate offers more value than going directly through American Airlines.
Avianca LifeMiles
Like Air Canada points and Turkish Airlines miles, Avianca LifeMiles can be used with Star Alliance airlines. In addition to this flexibility, you won't lose points to fuel surcharges.
