Visitation Hours
In order to be allowed to visit a Level 3 secure facility within the state of Virginia, you must submit a visitation application and be approved in order to be allowed to visit. Your application for visitation must be renewed every 2 years to allow consistent entrance. As of November 8th, 2021, visitation has resumed at every Virginia facility.

Phone Calls
Inmates are allowed to receive phone calls and have communication with people on their approved calling list. There are a couple of restrictions that one must follow:
- Lists are allowed to be up to 15 phone numbers long and include both landline and cell phone numbers.
- All phone calls are recorded and monitored by Connect NetWork by Global Tel Link. Certified attorney calls are not recorded or monitored.
- All phone calls must be paid for into a prepaid phone account that is set up on behalf of the inmate to receive phone calls.
- You must set up a prepaid phone through Connect NetWork operated by Global Tel*Link after you call them toll free at 1-(800)-483-8314.
- You or the inmate can lose phone privileges if they are abused.
Sending Mail
Please note that all inmates at Level 2 or higher secure facilities do not have access to direct mailings. They will only receive photocopies of the mail that is sent to them. The only allowable mail that an inmate may receive includes letters, postcards, and appropriate photographs (no pornography, obscence, or offensive images may be sent). All mail is shredded upon being photocopied after it is received.
